Dominion Reminds Michigan Election Officials & Voters About Split Voting Instructions for Use with Voting Terminals

Dominion Voting Systems is sharing an important reminder in Michigan for the start of early voting in the November 2024 General Election.

Voters seeking to use the Dominion Voting Assistance Terminals (VATs) for this election cycle should carefully follow instructions on how to successfully complete and verify their ballot selections prior to casting their vote.  Voters seeking to vote for a single party for all contests can use the straight-party option.  Voters seeking to split their ticket by choosing one or more candidates of a different political party should be advised not to select the straight party voting option.  If a voter selects the straight party option, but then opts to split their ticket by choosing one or more candidates of a different political party, they will need to de-select the straight ticket option and go back over their ballot selections and vote for all candidates individually. Voters should be reminded of the importance of reviewing the instructions and prompts on the VATs to ensure their choices are complete before printing their ballot.

Dominion is providing a Quick Reference Guide to help minimize impacts on any Michigan voters inconvenienced by this issue.
